Empowering Through Opportunity - Investing in Our Youth
At D-PAN the term “professional development” means offering opportunities to pursue and realize one’s career goals – especially for our young people. That’s why D-PAN is committed to expanding the range of learning opportunities not only for today’s deaf and hard of hearing talent – but for tomorrow’s.
Here are a couple of past initiatives D-PAN was proud to be a part of:
In the winter of 2010 D-PAN Productions teamed with the author of the award winning book, ‘The Baby Signing Book’ to create a WeeHands ™ DVD for parents, educators and those with young babies and children to begin their childs journey into the world of ASL.
In the summer of 2011, D-PAN introduced its Youth Initiative – through collaboration with Rosa-Lee Timm, D-PAN assisted the first ever Deaf Music Camp, a precedent-setting effort to provide young members of the deaf and hard of hearing community with training and hands-on experience in the fields of entertainment, media, and visual arts.
By building alliances with visionary corporations and leading educational institutions, D-PAN aims to be able to provide specially-designed training programs and internships for talented, ambitious deaf and hard of hearing youth which will provide them with the skills they need to thrive in the changing arts and media environment.
